If they don't know about Sailor Moon, note that Ami tries to carry herself more actively and upfront when she's Sailor Mercury. Think Christopher Reeve alternating between Clark Kent and Superman. On the other hand, it's not like there's a bunch of smol blue-haired teenagers running around Agri 10. We can discuss it if you want to make the connection.

CURRENT CANON POINT: Ami was taken during Act 15, when she was on her way to Rei's. She has her Star Power Stick, but this is before things started going down with Black Moon.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Ami is a rather small teenager, even smaller if her social anxiety is acting up. She wears bobbed jaw-length blue hair about a rounded face with wide and bright blue eyes, a tiny nose, and mouth. She's rather thin, wearing a grey cardigan over her Juuban school uniform, white socks, and penny loafers.
Sailor Mercury likewise is a rather small teenager, though she carries herself much taller. She too has bobbed jaw-length blue hair about a rounded face with wide and bright blue eyes, a tiny nose and mouth, and a golden tiara mostly centered by a sapphire hidden by her bangs. She wears a petite white sailor uniform with a pleated blue skirt, blue ribbons on her chest and behind her waist, elbow-length white gloves, and blue knee-length boots.
DEMEANOR: Ami's social anxiety isn't as bad as it was before she met Usagi and became Sailor Mercury, but its still there. She's quiet, withdrawn, and happiest when she has something to study. That said, she's totally endeared to her friends and will be more open and outward with them.
Sailor Mercury is a silvermilleniumdamn hero, and she carries herself like it. Brave, charming, and still active even if she's not a frontline fighter.
ABILITIES: As Ami Mizuno, she has a 300 IQ and easily an education level well above middle school. Why she's still at Juban, only the Tokyo school system knows. Or Luna.
Using her Star Power Stick to transform into Sailor Mercury, she's capable of incredible feats of athleticism. (The wiki says she can fly but we're not there yet and she doesn't even have a proper cape for it.) She also has four main magical powers:
- Mercury Aqua Mist - she creates a dense fog that blinds anyone within it
- Hyperspatial Sphere Generate - she creates a forcefield and teleports anything within to a pocket dimension, this does require her computer (see below) and a lot of effort and so will likely not be appearing in this RP at this time
- Shine Aqua Illusion - a new attack she'll discover here where her target GETS TO DRINK FROM THE FIREHOSE is blasted with a stream of water, its not very powerful but it can knock over opponents
- Shine Snow Sillusion - another new attack she'll discover here where she her targets chill are frozen in ice, though stronger foes can break or heat their way through
By touching her earring, she can also summon her Mercury Goggles. These normally help provide information on the situation and allow her to further analyze and come up with solutions.
She's not the most powerful of magical girls, but her main weapon has always been her brain. Mercury is the team strategist. Even without her goggles, she can still find and exploit weaknesses in her opponents.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Ami is a perfectly healthy 15 year old girl. Sailor Mercury is likewise human, if a bit more gifted than usual.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Ami is likely with withdraw when anything scandalous is mentioned, but she's pretty open about most subjects given her recent life experiences.
OTHER: Ami really likes cats.

MENTAL: Ami's mind can be coerced or controlled, but its not as easy these days and strong emotional connections will help her break free of such things. It will take a lot more effort to control Sailor Mercury.

VIOLENCE: Ami will try to think her way through and try to find a place to use her Star Power Stick to transform. You better believe Sailor Mercury is ready to fight for love and intelligence, she's even got her season two upgrades!

Canon notes: During act 15, the beginning of the Black Moon arc. She's just received her new Star Power Stick and was on her way to Rei's temple when she was pulled. Also, I'll include bits from her fanbook from the first anime, as Crystal doesn't give her much in the way of filler-time development.

Long story short, Ami befriended Luna and Usagi, discovered she was Sailor Mercury, made more friends, fought the Dark Kingdom, discovered she was a reincarnated space princess, sacrificed herself, and then got better.
Personality: It's never been properly pointed out in either the manga or both anime, but Ami has social anxiety so bad it hurts. She had a hard time making friends, preferring to shy away or hide behind her books rather than interact with people. Even when she did speak, it was always so quiet and polite that you could easily forget that she's there. Being around people made her basically go silent and just go through the motions before she could get away to her books or swimming. Ami just has the worst time trying to interact with other people, its far easier for her to retreat to her studies.
Fortunately, she wound up with something better than therapy: A friendship with Usagi Tsukino that was quickly followed by the discovery that Ami was, in fact, Sailor Mercury. Ami discovered that she didn't have to be so guarded and afraid of being around others, Usagi and the others adored her for who she was. And she also found that if she could be brave in saving Tokyo, she can also be brave in opening herself to others. Still, the social anxiety is still there, and Ami is quick to keep herself guarded around strangers. In a strange world where she can't depend on her friends, however, she's going to need new friends. Just don't mind her if she's still a bit shy and awkward about it.
Along that note, Ami prefers to stay noble, honest, and pure. While she doesn't mind sharing her test scores at all, she's never loudly boastful about it. More quietly boastful. She's the quite voice of reason, the demure beauty who prefers brains over brawn. Attempting to remain the calm even as a storm roars about heTr. She loves swimming precisely as its the one time she can relax and let her mind wind down without anything bothering it. Moments of peace to allow herself to calm down. She's the guardian of love and intelligence, and those were roles she exemplared long before becoming Sailor Mercury.
What's more easily noticeable about Ami is that she's quite driven. Whether it's her studies or games of chess, she'll put in 110% of effort to do her best. And then some more. To this end, she has the highest test scores in all of Tokyo, can perform complicated calculations and strategies that even adults would have problems mastering, and has knowledge on just about anything and everything. And she wants to know more. Give her books, and she'll immediately devour them in no time flat just to learn something new. Her goal in life is to be a successful medical doctor like her mother, and her life until last year had been completely aimed in that direction.
And then there's Sailor Mercury. Leaning hard into Clark Kenting between shy schoolgirl and heroic superheroine, the pretty guardian is where she can put on the mask and finally discover her social bravery. Where Ami can be the wallflower, Mercury is more outwardly active and visible. Its in this role that she can be far more confident and assertive in ways that no one would mistake for Ami Mizuno. And in ways she really can't be as Ami if she wants to keep her secret identity.
